Mental Health Ministry

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

John 10:10

Memorial Presbyterian Church received a $10,000 grant from the Presbytery of St. Augustine to build up a Mental Health Ministry.

Per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • More than 1 in 5 US adults live with a mental illness.
  • Over 1 in 5 youth (ages 13-18) either currently or at some point during their life, have had a seriously debilitating mental illness

Overview

Through implementing a Mental Health Ministry in our faith community, Memorial hopes to:

  • Reduce the stigma related to mental health issues, particularly in the church
  • Provide mental health education, resources, and support for all age groups (Children, Youth, and Adults).

Invite God fully into this space

  • Trusting that God cares deeply about our physical, spiritual, AND mental health
  • Believing that Jesus came so that we might have abundant life and that mental wellness is part of that abundant life
