Kindergarten to 2nd Grade Sunday School Class Journeys to Canaan

Last Sunday, our K-2nd class read the story of God’s call to Abram
and then acted out the journey by stopping at 6 different stations, created by their teacher, Judy Robb.

They put on “walking shoes” and packed food for the journey, crawled through caves (cardboard boxes),
and crossed over the river (blue material with black paper stones).

They they built an altar with black sand and made a tent out of a bedsheet….all on the journey to Canaan (what is now Israel).

Our hope is for this “journey” to help the kids remember the story of God’s promise to Abraham and Sarah–and how Yahweh would be their God and they would be his people.

Many thanks to Judy Robb for preparing such a wonderful lesson and to Joanna Pang for helping her to implement it with this special group of kids!
