A Room of Hope: MPC Supports the Goff Family Shelter
The Goff Family Shelter, operated by the St. Augustine Society (St. Francis House), is a 37-bed, 9-room homeless facility on Washington Street in Lincolnville designed to keep families with children together. Opening in early 2026, it provides, food, and advocacy, aiming to help families transition into permanent housing.
Memorial Presbyterian Church’s sponsorship of a room, in the new center, was made possible through the contributions of the congregation by inclusion in the Outreach Committee’s budget and under the leadership of Alice Barresi.
Members of the MPC Outreach Ministry (Pastor Rachael, Becky Maguire and Karen Jakoby) were privileged to represent MPC by attending the Floor Signing for the Goff Family Center on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Thanks to the congregation and all of those individuals who give tirelessly to this ministry!
