God Gave the Growth
In August of 2022, a room full of adult leaders in MPC Children and Youth Ministry gathered to share, pray, and learn in preparation for serving in ministry with young people.
Now they are 7 months into giving their time, energy, patience, and love to ministry with young people. Time flies when you’re having fun…it feels like just yesterday that we gathered.
When we gathered, we felt called to focus on this scripture:
"I planned, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.
So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth."
I Corinthians 3:6-7
At Memorial, we care deeply about the faith formation of young people, so to have so many faithful adults gather to support them is a blessing we don’t take for granted.
Do adult leaders know the answers to every question a young person might ask?
Definitely not.
Do they need to?
Thankfully, no.
We show up, listen, pray, learn, and listen some more.
Did we mention listening? Because children and teens really love to have the attentive ear of an adult who sees and cares about them.
We’re “seed planters” who are called by God to help plant seeds of faith in young people. We trust, with all our might, that God is at work watering those seeds and that God will continue to make them grow for years to come.
