Children – Youth – College
ALL OF US, AS DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST, ARE CALLED TO LIVES OF CONTINUING GROWTH. THE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH IS COMMITTED TO ENRICHING YOUNG AND OLD IN GROWTH OF OUR KNOWLEDGE, FAITH, AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE MEANING OF CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP.
INFANT & TODDLER CHILD CARE
The MPC Nursery is open to infants through five-year-old children during all worship services, Sunday School, and the Wednesday Night FEAST program, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to utilize the nursery so that as adults they may attend worship services, Sunday School classes, and fellowship opportunities. Raising children is an awesome privilege and we would like to share in it by nurturing both you and your children.
We welcome parents to visit the Nursery and Toddler rooms to meet Lee and our staff. The Nursery is located in Fellowship Hall next to the Parlor. The MPC Nursery Coordinator, Mrs. Lee Kutschke, as well as all of our nursery staff, are screened and regularly reviewed. Our nursery staff are all well trained in childcare and competent with first aid.
CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
All of us, as disciples of Jesus Christ, are called to lives of continuing growth. The Christian Education ministry of the church is committed to enriching young and old in the growth of our knowledge, faith, and understanding of the meaning of Christian discipleship. Sunday School takes place on Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Children’s Sunday School includes three-year-olds through fifth grade students. Workshop classrooms are on the second floor of the Educational Wing. Committed and caring teachers help the children to explore their faith and learn Bible stories through art, games, and drama.
We have a vibrant and growing community of youth at Memorial Presbyterian Church. We hope to be an all-inclusive youth ministry where we nurture and love the young people of Memorial Presbyterian Church, and the city of St. Augustine, with the abounding grace of Jesus Christ. We do this by nurturing youth and their families through our weekly programs, special events, and most importantly – relationships. We also hope that our church can cultivate youth leaders not just for the future, but for service to the church now.
Weekly Programming includes –
Sunday Night Youth Group – Each Sunday from 5pm-7pm all youth in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for dinner, active games, worship, and a message. We have a lot of fun together but also build meaningful relationships. Youth Group is scheduled during the school year and breaks for the summer.
Lounge in the Loft – After our weekly church family dinner (FEAST), all of our youth (grades 6-12) are invited from 6:00pm-7:00pm to come lounge in our youth loft. You can bring homework, or simply hang out. Sometimes we even watch movies. It’s a wonderful time of relaxing together.
Sunday School – Sunday School is from 9:30-10:30 each week. From 9:20-9:30 youth are allowed to order a free breakfast from our church café. We eat together in the Fellowship Hall, then split up into Middle and High School Groups in the Loft. This year the middle school is exploring our Biblical ancestors while High School is focused on the month to month, conversation-based studies.
Each year we try to provide plenty of opportunities for fun off church campus – whether it’s going to see a movie, or heading to the Trampoline Park. Sometimes we provide a simpler avenue for spending time together like a movie night on a Saturday in our youth loft. Throughout the year, there are other special events like:
• Summer mission trips
• Youth retreats at Camp Montgomery
• Veteran’s Luncheon
• Service Projects

The college ministry of MPC meets seeks to create a space for college aged students to explore their faith, their questions, and to experience a loving and accepting community. We get together each Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. in room 218 on the second floor of Fellowship Hall for a time of study, questioning, fellowship, and then we have dinner with the larger church community at 5:00 PM.
Of course we spend all kinds of time in coffee shops, downtown in St. Augustine, and in each others lives as well! MPC also partners with Young Life of St. Augustine hosting their college gathering on Thursday nights at 7:45 PM in room 218 on the second floor of Fellowship Hall. This is a large group gathering with worship, fun, and fellowship. If you are interested in learning more about the college ministry, reach out to Justin Forbes- our college ministry director- and he can help get you connected! One last important thing… MPC LOVES Flagler College and, St. John's River State College and is excited to be a part of your college experience as we get to be neighbors!
